Food Programs in Fredericton Area Schools…Planting Seeds for the Future
WHY
There is a strong link between health and learning. Across Fredericton, Canada, and around the world, schools are offering food programs (i.e. breakfast, lunch, snack or back pack programs) designed to support student health, development, and learning. WHO If you are connected with a school food program – as an educator, administrator, parent, student, volunteer, donor, supplier, or community member; or if you have an interest in learning more about these programs, please come and take part in the discussion. HOW A panel of food program leaders will share examples of innovative, successful programs. Presenters will include: - Rachel Allain & Rachel Schofield (Le réseau des cafétérias communautaires inc.) - Margot Riebe-Butt (Nourish NS) - Stephane Sirois (Céd’ici). Presentations will be in English and a discussion (English/French) will follow on how we can collectively and strategically build on efforts already underway in Fredericton schools. WHERE Centre Communautaire Sainte-Anne 715 Priestman Street, Fredericton This public session is organized by the Fredericton Nourishing Minds Committee and is possible thanks to funding from the Environmental Trust Fund and Céd’ici. Come to learn, share your thoughts and be part of the solution By building on successes and working collectively, we can make a difference. |
