NATIONAL HOUSING DAY
Since 2000, Nov. 22nd has been recognized as National Housing Day (NHD) across Canada.
t’s a day to recognize the important work done by housing partners across our communities and to reflect on the work that still needs to be done to improve access to housing for everyone in Canada. This year, housing partners from the community will be hosting an awareness and momentum building event to highlight the critical role affordable housing and person-centred housing-based supports play in building a healthy community for all. |

GFSI has partnered with The Ville and others to support inter-generational housing in our community. |
Mayor's Task Force on Homelessness
GFSI Executive Director chaired the Partnership Working Group. Their objective was to provide recommendations to City Council on how we can end chronic homelessness in Fredericton and support The Road Home plan as outlined by the Community Action Group on Homelessness (CAGH).
As part of the partnership committee, GFSI in partnership with the CAGH organized an open space forum that brought together 70 people from 45 different faith-based organizations. One of the outcomes from this amazing gathering was the obvious need for a "communication tool" that our faith-based organizations, and others, can use to coordinate the services they provide to those in the circumstance of poverty in our city. Civic Tech Fredericton has taken on the task of creating this tool. |
